Intro

My friends over at Pumproom LLC came to me with a problem and I worked closely with them trying to translate their fine audio production to their visuals and unifying it all. The problem was the previous albums had covers but it had a distinct language and felt like it didn't belong The goal was to design a layout system that Pumproom LLC house could repeatedly use so every release feels consistent, recognisable, and sticks in the audience’s mind. Instead of just thinking about the visuals, I also thought from a Branding and Systems perspective.

Layout Explorations

These are few amongst the many layouts that were explored.

After exploring different directions, the layout eventually settled into a clear, repeatable structure. The final decision was simple and intentional: a primary visual on the left, paired with a pattern system on the right. This left–right split helped create an immediate sense of order. The visual on the left acts as the focal point, while the pattern on the right functions as a consistent brand element that ties the entire series together.

Finalising

Then I worked on executing this and made album covers with this layout and it was a hit.
